This week we moved into our new warehouse-cum-office facility, right in the middle of Dubai’s industrial hub at Quasis Industrial Area. This lies in the vicinity of our company headquarters at DAFZA. Its close proximity to Dubai’s prime sea port, Jebel Ali and Dubai International Airport will help us reduce our carbon footprint. Also, now that we’re closer to our market and in the center of the business activity, we will enthusiastically break our previously set benchmarks of service quality, efficiency and responsiveness.
A team of seasoned architects is working to give the desired look to the place. We’re focusing on a conventional, yet minimalistic design, with equal emphasis on functionality and aesthetics. The mandate is to optimise slots to ensure that pallet positions as well as storage profiles adequately match the flow of goods. The new facility with a surface area of 1500 sq mts, has adequate provision to store frozen, chilled and dry products in ambient temperature. There are 2 freezer rooms, each with a storage capacity of 20’FCL; two chillers with a capacity of 4 FCL each and 12 container storage facility for dry products. Italian technology has been used for freezer, chiller and dry temperature control. It has fully mechanised loading and unloading systems.
With our base anchored in Dubai, we expanded our global reach to Middle East (Dubai), Europe (Rotterdam and Ukraine) and Africa (Madagascar). As we expanded, the need of strategically viable storage units, in close proximity to air and sea ports became imperative. Thus, we opened up our warehouses in Dubai, Rotterdam, Madagascar and India to help us strengthen our base in these regions. And with this bigger warehouse facility in Dubai, we’re bound to fuel our growth at the tipping point, like never before.
Within a short span of three years, Sun Impex has grown to establish itself as a renowned food company globally. In Middle East, we enjoy the limelight owing to the exceptional growth of our Horeca business. Last two years have witnessed an unprecedented growth for our Horeca division. We have a company owned, temperature controlled fleet of delivery vehicles with the delivery staff trained in basic food hygiene. As we are on a continuous spree to expand, the new warehouse-cum-office space complements our growing Horeca product portfolio. We have many new brand tie-ups with Horeca suppliers in the pipeline and the new facility is a guarantee to our esteemed partners that we always go the extra mile to co-create value for our partners as well as suppliers. The history of warehouses is as old as the discovery of shipping-trade routes by the Portuguese. Warehousing is a key component of any good business supply chain. At the core of all good warehouse management strategies is to arbitrate variations such that supply translates into demand in the most economical and efficient way. Variations in seasonal demand projections, inventory flow and supply dynamics are fundamental to every warehouse. And underneath these, lies a potential to harness these variables and create value in the supply chain. We attribute our growth story to our constant attempt of creating such value, in various aspects of our business supply chain. And with this new shelter of ours, our hopes find a new anchor.
