Developing Countries Dependence on Fossil Fuels

Can you imagine your life in few years without the use of Fossil Fuels? Imagine for a moment that non-renewable resource such as oil has extinguished. No automobiles, planes, gasoline stops, walking to work in scotching heat or in freezing cold, empty runway, no essential plastic and textile products. What a future! Do you want such a future for you or your children? I guess no, then we should start taking control today and find ways to save our non-renewable resources.  We as humans can save this planet and its natural resources.

Well let’s start from the beginning. Fossil fuel is made from plants and animals which have died millions of years ago and with time they take the form of sedimentary rocks, such as coal and liquid hydrocarbons such as oil or gas. Each one of us uses fossil fuels in one way or another and this has led to an alarming increase in the demand and production of it. Developed and developing countries like United States, Europe, China and India dependency on fossil fuel continues to grow at a shocking rate. Asia is considered to consume 35% of global oil production. Fuel oil powers our industries, control our transportation and acts as a raw material for plastics, paints, textiles, leather and other materials. We underestimate the significance of fuel in our daily life.

The fuel prices have skyrocketed over the past few months. The rising price of fuel has gradually made it unaffordable to the average working class through out Asia. According to the researchers, if we continue to live our life dependent on non-renewable resources then within next 30 years we will exhaust 90% of the world’s fossil fuel. The prospect of losing such a valuable natural resource is unimaginable to the oil dependent inhabitants of the world today. I think the best ways to combat is reduce your daily usage of the car and use more of public transportation.

For distances further away from home, such as your workplace, you might consider forming a car pool with individuals traveling to the same destination. You would also find it a good idea to switch to a smaller car as they provide greater fuel economy as compared to larger cars such as SUVs and trucks. Industries needs to control Good driving habits would allow your car to cut down on fuel consumption, thereby leading to greater cost savings on fuel.

The most important thing is to take action by putting these into practice. If we don’t then I pity those who are younger.
